Chinese electronics major Xiaomi and mobile payments company MobiKwik announced 'One Touch Recharge' and 'Bill Payments' on the payment network's platform with a feature that allows users to pay bills and recharge their phones or DTH connections from within the messaging application.
Launched with Xiaomi MIUI8, the users can recharge their phone by clicking at the 'recharge now' button for instant recharge through MobiKwik when they receive a message from their telecom or DTH operator regarding low balance or bill payment.
MobiKwik's partnership with Xiaomi enables the users to recharge right from the reminders that they get from the operators. Existing Mi users can make use of the feature when they upgrade to MIUI 8.
The recharge call to action is embedded right next to the SMS and allows users to complete the recharge without having to navigate or install different apps. It also enables users to pay their bills on time.
Customers can also sync the MobiKwik account with the Mi account thereby achieving 'One Click Recharge', which again is a great customer experience.
"With this initiative, we take a leap in giving users a seamless recharge and payments experience. This pioneering association with Xiaomi is a step towards Internet businesses collaborating to create the best experiences for the user," said Chief Operating Officer MobiKwik, Mrinal Sinha.
