Facebook's Messenger standalone app has become more user friendly and time saving.
The Facebook Messenger team in its blog said, "Up until now, most inbox experiences haven't kept up with the new ways people connect. So, we've been thinking about how we can make it simpler and easier to find what you want to start a conversation."
It has added new features like a new home tab with recent messages at the top of the screen. It will also have favourites section and will have most messaged contacts in the section.
The Active Now section will list those currently available online. There is also a new birthday section showing people who have their birthdays on the day.
The Messenger app will also feature a search bar at the top of the screen.
The Facebook Mesenger app has over 900 million users.
Facebook's Messenger recently got a feature which reintroduced support for SMS messages inside the app. The company has confirmed that the feature will be available via an update to all Android users globally.
