To help these customers, we are announcing an additional six months of servicing for the Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 10, versions 1607, 1703, and 1709. (Additional servicing for Windows 10, version 1511 was announced in November.) This extension will be offered via normal channels.

And Office 2019(ship in H2 of 2018) will only work on windows 10. Office 2019 will solely be available as a Click-to-Run installation package. The traditional MSI installer will not be offered.

Office 2019 won't offer the usual five-plus-five support policy. Instead, its support lifecycle is being tied to Office 2016; after five years of mainstream support, it will receive only two years of extended support, with both Office 2016 and Office 2019 extended support ending on October 14, 2025.

Windows media player: switching from WMIS to Music Match service

In RS4, we are switching Windows Media Player app to a new and more reliable music metadata content provider and service. RS4 Users will continue to get music metadata (album art, Album names, song names, artist name, etc.) when they insert CD and try to play songs with WMP or when they copy/download new music files on their system.

Over the coming weeks, we’re also kicking off some experiments with crawling and indexing quality PWAs from the Web to list them in the Microsoft Store, where users can find them just like any other app on Windows 10.

On other platforms, PWAs primarily originate from inside the browser, and can escape the browser in response to various prompts or menu options. We’re taking things one step further on Windows! Because a PWA can be a first-class citizen in the Windows Store, a user will be able to engage fully with an installed PWA—from discovery, to installation, to execution—without ever opening the browser.

The first and most obvious distinction here is that we believe PWAs should be discoverable everywhere apps are discoverable – this means they should appear in the Microsoft Store alongside native apps.

In the next release of Windows 10, we intend to begin listing PWAs in the Microsoft Store.
