The leak suggests that Microsoft will bring in something called "Windows 10 Pro for Workstations" although it might actually be called "Windows Pro for Advanced PCs" which will help Microsoft move away from the stigma of Windows 10.

The OS will have a couple of different features:
  • Workstation mode enhanced performance - using the multi-core server CPUs to deliver better performance on demanding tasks.
  • Resilient file system storage - ReFS is Microsoft's improved file system that was introduced with Windows Server 2012. Support for this was introduced in Windows 8.1 and you can use it now, in Windows 10 if you like. There's a setup process which involves building a mirror set and formatting them with the new file system. This may be useful for anyone who has to work with a lot of data.
  • Faster file sharing - uses SMBDirect to move files quickly and with minimal overhead. Obviously useful in businesses where data is moving about quickly, and a problem with Windows currently.
  • Expanded hardware support - have 4 CPUs and 6TB of memory in one system.
Microsoft Is Secretly Planning A New Advanced Mode For Windows 10

Microsoft released Windows 10 for PCs build 16232 and Mobile build 15228. In the announcement, the company also said that Insiders won't be receiving updates for pre-installed Windows 10 apps for the time being.
Microsoft says that the reason for this is that it's "critical" for Insiders to test the versions of apps that will ship with this feature update of Windows 10. Fortunately, things will be back to normal in the "very near future".

Windows 10 will hide your important files from ransomware soon

Microsoft is making some interesting security-related changes to Windows 10 with the next Fall Creators Update, expected to debut in September. Windows 10 testers can now access a preview of the changes that include a new controlled folder access feature. It’s designed to only allow specific apps to access and read / write to a folder. If enabled, the default list prevents apps from accessing the desktop, pictures, movies, and documents folders.

“Controlled folder access monitors the changes that apps make to files in certain protected folders,” explains Dona Sarkar, head of Microsoft’s Windows Insiders program. “If an app attempts to make a change to these files, and the app is blacklisted by the feature, you’ll get a notification about the attempt.”

Microsoft has started testing a new mini-view for the Groove Music app in Windows 10. The new feature utilizes the new CompactOverlay feature in Windows 10 which allows apps to create a picture-in-picture-like window for apps that show up on top of all other windows. As for the Groove Music app, the new mini-view shows the album art and lets you switch between different settings without actually opening Groove Music which is certainly quite useful.

The software giant has revealed that it will start sending notifications to users who are still using Windows 10 version 1507, warning them that the operating system is deemed "end of service" and will no longer receive monthly security patches. You'll see a convenient button to upgrade to the latest release (at present, the Creators Update) if you're part of this group.
