I just wish Hike stay and continue its journey as India's own messenger. Signal App is trending on twitter with some paid tweets. Where as Telegram is Good but not trust worthy. God knows where they store data and its already banned in many other countries like Iran, China, Pakistan, Russia and many other countries.

Blame Google. If they have the money, resource and infrastructure. Why don't they start providing rewards to users for switching to something like Google Meet? Instead of rebranding a service for 3rd time. If Apple cared monetising from more than it's hardware than we would have iMessage on all the major OS.

From Google Pay's Terms of service
Privacy. In addition to other clauses in the Combined Google Pay Terms, you agree and specifically consent that we may collect, store, and use your personal data and any communications made through Google Pay, in accordance with Applicable Laws and our Privacy Policy.

Google may share your payments related information, including UPI Transaction Data, with Merchants, Banks, Third Party Providers and service providers as required for the purpose of operations, settlement payment processing, and promoting Google Pay Services.

Your UPI Transaction Data will not be used for any monetisation purpose (eg. for advertisements) by any entity other than Google (in other words, Google India Digital Services Private Limited).
means, Google can use all Google Pay data for monetizing & promoting their service

Both has same business model. I am saying based on previous history only one can be trusted over other.

They do have Apple Music/Apple TV on Android. And this is the perfect opportunity to bring iMessages to Android and Windows! They can charge for it, like the initial days of WhatsApp! And they already have a huge user base of iMessages!

If you are okay to forego Video calling, then Telegram.
If you are okay to forego groups with 150+ members, then Signal..

Honestly, Signal's encryption is world class, open source and also in use by other messaging apps as well. WhatsApp also uses signal's end-to-end encryption for chats...
There is one 100% Indian App - Elyments.
All the alternate Apps - Telegram, Signal and Elyments have Video Calling Facility. But Signal is having Group Video Call facility upto 5 people. Telegram and Elyments offer only one to one video calling only.
