It gave the option to restore. But when I clicked it, it loaded for some time and then crashed. Later when I opened WhatsApp, all my chats were gone. Even the backups that are stored locally got deleted automatically.

It happened with me today, but I chose cancel on "restore backup". My one day messages are gone, it showing the messages till yesterday only.
