West Bengal Assembly Passes Resolution to Change State's Name to 'Bangla'

All parties, including the Left, the Congress and the BJP, agreed over the proposal of name change. The resolution will now be sent to the Centre for its approval.

Yes this is logical step. West Bengal name Should be Changed as Bangla. Thats why all parties agreed with that.

Bt name can only be changed via simple majority in both house of parliament and not via assembly resolution. So it's a timepass. If TMC is serious about this then the could change the name of state when they were in power with UPA 2.

BTW Amar Bangla name would be much better then bangla as A comes earlier than B as per TMC logic
