Vodafone has partnered with Facebook to launch the Vodafone Blue. The social networking handset is priced very affordably at Rs 4950, and plans to target the youth segment with unlimited FB access for a year.

The Vodafone Blue comes with a QWERTY keypad for easy messaging and a dedicated FB button for quick access to the social network. It supports 2.5G networks and is a dual band phone with EDGE capability. The screen is a 2.4" TFT 256k display with QVGA resolution, while the processor is a 200 MHz MTK6235, which seems to be something to worry about. With 40 MB inbuilt memory, it supports up to 16 GB via a microSD card. It sports a 2 MP camera with flash, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, FM radio, and supports popular audio formats and H.264 and MPEG4 video formats.

In addition to integrated FB, it features Palringo chat suite supporting Google talk, ichat, XMPPm ICQ, gadu-gadu, and AIM. The integrated email client supports POP3 and IMAP4, to keep you connected when you are not chatting. The lightweight phone is 110 mm long, 61.1 mm wide, and 12 mm thick. The 1000 mAh battery claims to power the handset for up to 175 minutes of talk time and 324 hours standby.
The Vodafone Blue will be available across 4000 outlets in India. The company plans to upgrade the phone by offering regional language options to broaden its appeal. It also plans to incorporate 3G and Wi-Fi in the next year and a half.
