Hi guys,

Last month I changed my rmn but post that I am unable to view any ott programs through airtel xstream app...customer care said they cant do anything as ott benefits are given one time and not monthly, to which I argued if bills are monthly why not ott benefits also, but he denied..in that case what to do? Jio hotstar and zee5 are working independently using old RMN..

I would advise to raise a dispute on the PG Portal and the Airtel grievance officer will be assigned. They can get the issue resolved in priority. DoT also monitors these cases.

Alternatively, you can mail to the Airtel Broadband Appellate Authority of your state.

I have tried and tested both methods. With PG Portal, an assured response comes while the Appellate desk choose to ignore many times.

As per My knowledge Airtel Only Gives ott benifits on RMN which was Registered During booking otherwise ott benifits not given On another number
But that's a fair policy, with this policy one can never change his RMN which is not acceptable as we are paying monthly bill so ideally the subscription must be valid for 1 month ...

Anyway what's the solution now? Disconnect the connection?

Yes surrender the connection and take new connection with new number.

But now the problem is the IPTV...with new connection, they are giving IPTV box which I don't want...I want dth only...

Besides a simple issue , requires such complicated steps makes me hate their policies more...anyway thanks..let me check what to do..

Keep your dth with you and disconnect the connection, Then ask for new wifi connection individually and connect your wifi connection with DTH in airtel thanks app , I did the same one year back

Follow these steps for Hotstar and Xtream only

First, change the registered mobile number for both Fiber and DTH services.

Unbundle the current Black plan.

Use Fiber and DTH separately for the next 30 days.

After 30 days, re-bundle both services into a new Black plan.

Once re-bundled, you will get the option to claim OTT benefits on the new mobile number.

Note : Zee5 will not work.

Currently I am able to watch zee5 and jiohotstar using old number but xstream play not working...if I follow your method, I might end pay up paying more..besides I am claiming internet bill from my corporate..if I unbundle not sure what will happen 😝🥲
