Two arrested in Kolkata for Facebook fraud

KOLKATA: Kolkata Police's detective department and Special Cell of Delhi police tracked down a Nigerian person
and his Indian girlfriend who were cheating several women of their money by striking up friendship with them via
Facebook.


The arrested accused have been identified as David Chibunna, a resident of Nigeria's Imo, and his girlfriend
Tsenyani alias Anni, a resident of Dimapur.

They were apprehended following investigation into a case registered
by Kolkata Police.

The duo duped the complainant of Rs 6,70,752. Apart from her, the couple also duped several women from various
districts.

The woman claimed her close Facebook friend, Lewis Williams from London, planned to visit India to meet her.

She was accordingly sent his itinerary via email. On April 6, after Williams landed in Delhi, the complainant received a
call from a Nikita Singh, who introduced herself as a customs agent.

She said Williams had been detained upon arrival as he was carrying 1,00,000 of undeclared cash, along with other incriminating articles.

Singh made Williams speak to the complainant and ask for help in getting out of the customs issue.

Over the next few days, both kept asking for varying amounts to be deposited in different bank accounts. making her pay Rs 6,70,752 in total.

The woman eventually discovered that
the bank accounts were in different individuals' names.

She then lodged a complaint at Anandapur police station.
