Twitter is experimenting with a new feature that will bring a News tab to its apps for Android and iOS. The new feature sits right in the middle of the app's navigation bar. Once tapped, it brings users a list of news headlines trending on Twitter.
On clicking a headline, the user is taken to a story screen with an image, headline, block of text from the story, and the top tweets discussing it, reports Buzzfeed .
“We’re experimenting with a news experience on iOS and Android as we continue to explore new ways to surface the best content to users,” Buzzfeed quotes a Twitter spokesperson as saying in a statement.
The new feature is first being rolled out to users in the US. It is expected to be rolled out in a phased manner.
