Japanese electronics giant Toshiba has introduced a new range of smart LED TVs powered by Android (v4.4.2 KitKat with access to Google Play) that will allow viewers to access a wide range of apps, games and videos. The new range of televisions fall under its Regza brand.
The new range of Ultra HD 4K L9450 and the HD and full-HD L5400 series televisions feature personalised content, visual details, stunning graphics, built-in Wi-Fi, Web browser to access any website, Toshiba said in a release.
The Toshiba Regza L9450 'Pro Theatre' series is available in 50-inch, 65-inch and 84-inch screen sizes, and is priced between Rs 1.99 lakh to Rs. 10.49 lakh respectively.
On the other hand, the Toshiba Regza L5400 HD and full-HD series are available in 32-inch, 40-inch, 47-inch and 56-inch displays priced between Rs. 38,990 to Rs. 1.29 lakh.
Toshiba India's DS Division Country Head Sanjay Warke said: "The Android interface has opened a world of possibilities for consumers... We are trying to bring the same limitless experience by breaking boundaries on screen sizes. Our latest range offers the customers a choice to enjoy latest Android applications on a larger screen and in a higher image quality, than that of smartphones and tablets."
The new range also allows viewers to use plug-and-play wireless keyboards and mice.
Founded in Tokyo in 1875, Toshiba has a global network of over 590 consolidated companies employing over 200,000 people. It has annual sales of over $63 billion (roughly Rs. 3,88,161 crores).
