Telecom companies luring customers with free call, data offers on Independence Day

Independence Day is one big occasion when telecom service provides vie with each other in winning over customers by offering lucrative deals.

Following companies have announced call and data offers this Independence Day:

BSNL: Customers of state-run BSNL will be able to make free unlimited calls from BSNL landline to any network mobile and landline in the country on August 15, and thereafter every Sunday on any network on Independence Day, August 15.

The free calling service is available for all BSNL customers without any charge.

BSNL has an offer for its prepaid data customers as well. The company id offering extra 10 percent data between August 14 and August 17. The company has also increased the data recharge validity for customers within this period.

Aircel: Telecom operator Aircel has announced 'Azaadi Offer' giving unlimited local calls and data to its customers on the eve of the 70th Independence Day for Rs 123. To avail the offer, customer will have to recharge with Rs 123 which will remain valid for one day only.

Airtel: Airel has announced a recharge voucher of Rs 1947 for its customers for the Delhi & NCR circle, which offers full talktime with a 1 year validity.

The customers will not have to pay any fees or service tax. The limited period recharge voucher also offers STD calls @ Re.1 for a period of 1 month. This added bonanza can be obtained by sending ‘1947’ as a toll free SMS to 170.

Vodafone: Vodafone in India is offering to double up the data on the data pack. The offer is valid till October 31.
