Supreme Court has issued a notice to Centre on a plea seeking framing of guidelines for online media streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime.

According to a tweet by ANI, "Supreme Court issues notice to Centre on a plea seeking framing of guidelines by the government to regulate the functioning of online media streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video."

SC issues notice to Centre to regulate Netflix, Amazon Prime content

-----------

I wonder when SC will do it for Alt Balaji and Ullu. They have lot worser issues in regards to vulgarity.

Notice issued to just three OTT platforms Netflix, Prime Video and Hotstar but why? As Bapun Raz said their are a lot of other OTT platforms in India much having much worst content, all platforms should be checked.

SC is worried about OTT services which requires consent and subscription to watch. Most content even comes with age warning. Meanwhile social media sites and youtube are full of hatred and vulgar activity. But no ones bothered to regulate these. :clap2::clap2::clap2:

Waste of time and resources, if someone wants to see the. They will get to see it on a global platform if not regional. It's like piracy. If you block local they'll go global.

Notice is for all OTT as article 14 prevent any discremination in front of law so government cannot Create site specific law/rules as if they do then article 13 will make those law void but as usual news site tweak it to get more traffic and eye catching headline.

Here most important word is Like before name of those big 3 OTT

There is no right to choose but Expression is a fundamental right under article 19. And so it's not absolute right. So state has the power to impose reasonable restrictions on these fundamental rights subject to judicial review. That's how constitution is written.

I m not talking about fundamental rights. They r mere jokes. I m talking about general rights a human being has.
