Sunil Narine banned from bowling offspinners

NEW DELHI: Kolkata Knight Riders
mystery spinner Sunil Narine has
been banned by the BCCI from
bowling his offspinners in the 2015
Indian Premier League.

Narine was reported for a suspect
bowling action during KKR's away
match against Sunrisers Hyderabad
on April 22 and following that, he
underwent a biomechanical analysis
of his bowling action in Chennai.
The BCCI Suspect Bowling Action
Committee? reviewed the report
provided by the Sri Ramachandra
Arthroscopy and Sports Sciences
Centre and studied the video
footage of the IPL match in
Visakhapatnam, IPL said in a media
release on Wednesday.
The committee concluded that
Narine's offspinners are illegal and
therefore he has been barred from
bowling them.
However, he can continue to bowl
his other deliveries ( the knuckle
ball and quicker straight ball).
If Narine is found to be bowling
offspinners again in the ongoing
edition of the IPL, he would be
suspended from bowling in BCCI-
organized matches.
