In an attempt to resolve the ongoing row between the BCCI and the PCB, Sri Lanka Cricket President Thilanga Sumathipala has offered to host a bilateral series between India and Pakistan in Sri Lanka. Sumathipala made this suggestion to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a meeting.
The PCB had earlier hit out at the BCCI for not keeping their word on playing Pakistan in a bilateral series despite signing a deal to do so and had even sent their counterparts a legal notice asking them to explain their failure. However, the BCCI responded by saying that the deal signed was not binding and that they needed the Indian Government’s permission to play Pakistan.
And now, the Sri Lanka Cricket President Thilanga Sumathipala has discussed the issue with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a bid to resolve the same.
The Pakistan Observer reported Sumathipala as saying, “I met Mr. Narendra Modi at BMICH (Bandarnayaka Memorial International Conference Hall) and conveyed the message to him to consider playing against Pakistan.”
