Spice, one of India’s mobile Internet and handset companies has announced the launch of the FLO TV - M 5600 – a new, uniquely designed touch-screen handset that adds an analog TV to your device to give you an added multimedia experience. Following the success of Cappuccino, its earlier FLO series touch phone, this feature packed multimedia phone consists of a unique ‘Flo Touch’ technology and a seamless interface, all at an attractive price tag of 3,099. With this new product, Spice has upgraded its FLO series from touch range to Live TV. The affordable touchscreen phone is available in ‘Jet Black’ and ‘Ivory White’ colours. It comes with a wide range of features that enable the handset to provide a complete multimedia experience to its users. The phone is also loaded with a host of utilities, which include multimedia features and pre-installed social networking applications, like ‘Facebook’ and ‘S Planet Apps store’.
The FLO TV sports an 8.12 cm QVGA touch screen powered by ‘FLO’ technology. It also sports a 1.3 megapixel camera that can also capture and play videos. Other features include FM radio, T- flash support (up to 8GB), FM Radio with recording, and a battery, which gives a talk time of up to 4 hours, according to the company. During the launch of this new mobile handset, Mr Kunal Ahooja, Global Head – Devices, S Mobility, said, “In this era of convergence, Mobile phones are the best medium of displaying the result of integration of technologies. With a revolutionary product like FLO TV – M 5600, we have redefined innovation and turned a new leaf in the mobile handsets industry.”
The handset is available across India through more than 50,000 retail points, including the 750+ Spice HotSpot retail networks. On the same topic, it is worth mentioning that Live TV has still not caught up in India as compared to the rest of the world. Besides a handful of sites and services, Live TV still needs a push that will make it as popular as other services. The FLO TV mobile handset is a step in that direction.
