India squad for South Africa series to be picked around Sept 15: Source
Fresh from a historic success on the tour of Sri Lanka, India are eager to take on South Africa at home; and the BCCI selectors are expected to assemble in Delhi around September 15 to pick the squad.
According to a source, the board has already asked players to submit their fitness certificates within this week, which is a routine procedure ahead of any selection meeting.
South Africa will tour India for a series of three T20 internationals, five ODIs and four Tests. The energy-sapping 72-day tour will begin with the limited-overs leg from October 2.
Coming back to lead the team in T20s and ODIs will be MS Dhoni while Virat Kohli will be in for a huge test as captain against the No. 1 Test team.
The three T20 internationals will also help the selectors assess players for the World T20 in India next year.
It is, however, unknown if the selectors will announce all three squads together or wait for the T20s and ODIs to finish before announcing the Test squad.
