Guys , little bit confused ,so posting a thread here
Currently using Note 5 pro (20month older ), phone is absolutely fine , facing no issue at all, only the battery drainagae issue due to aging of battery.

Flipkart giving ₹6500 as exchange value for Redmi Note 5 pro and new note 7 pro will cost me ₹5600.

Considering market is flooded with mobiles having new technology (notch , dot notch, water drop notch , punch hole camera, bigger battery at lesser price ) I won't get more than 6k resale value of my note 5 pro .
But on the other hand phone is running absolutely that's y little confused should I upgrade or not ?

Your are getting a new phone here which will last you 4-5 years. Meanwhile this will run out of its life within 2 years. You will need to replace it's battery which itself will cost you ₹1300.

So should I go or wait for a year till it exhaust it's life.

Don't buy this year. Next year you can get Android 10 pre-installed with more features like Navic, 5G etc.
Don't sell your current phone. It's for your backup, secondary phone. Just change the battery, or optimise background apps running, reduce brightness, unimportant apps etc.
