I am facing issues with BSNL FTTH since some time (i use the same at home), speeds get reduced to half and sometimes as low as 5-6 mbps, and it resolves on its own but takes time.

Also there is no added OTT advantage, and its not easy to change packs as well, as compared to Jio/Airtel one can change packs from app itself.

I am looking forward to shift from BSNL FTTH (which i use at home), as i am facing regular speed fluctuations and slowlness since few months. It can be due to ongoing Smart City works or issues at BSNL end, not sure.

I do not want to go with other local FTTH as again downtimes and fiber cuts are common here, and with the new municipality rules coming in for overhead cables, it would be risky.

The only options i have is Airtel Airfiber (Airtel OFC is available as per technician, and only few selected localities are given that), if i can get that for my home it would be amazing. second would be Jio AIrFiber.

I am looking for added OTT advantages, and pack offers which is not available in BSNL.
I will judge Airtel AirFiber installed at office before taking any decision.

Pls do suggest what would be better option.

Go for Jio at home as Airtel already installed at your office, so you can enjoy both ISPs.
Yes As Jio's OTT benefits cannot be matched by any other provider and for home usage 1000gb is enough. But only thing you have to bear is their terrible experience of watching live TV channels in JioTv+ as live TV channels from big broadcasters are not played natively and redirects to their Ott app which is cumbersome process.

The speeds are also very good and stable (depends on your area and tower range).

I have used BSNL copper ADSL broadband during the early days of my internet journey. Reading your issues feels like BSNL FTTH still has the same issues that they had two decades ago on their ADSL broadband. 😪

Some day I will try sharing a detailed experience on using various ISPs and my broadband journey on the dedicated thread which will give our members more insights my journey - Post Your Broadband Journey

For bundled OTT requirements, no one can beat Jio Fiber/AirFiber. Airtel is way backward on it with bunch of OTTs served by their low quality Xstream Play app.

The only drawback with Jio's bundled OTT is you'll have to access the OTT apps at least once on TV after plan renewal or they won't be activated. For people not having a TV, it's a problem.

Both are having their own pros and cons.

If the 5G network is proper in your area for the providers, both AirFiber would give you proper download speed. Upload speed is a problem on all AirFiber as it's operated to mobile tower, unlike optical fiber broadband which provides sufficient bandwidth through cable.

However, Airtel's internet feels way more responsive compared to Jio. Despite full internet speed, sites like X (Twitter), OnlyTech and various others will lag or take forever to load on Jio. This is because Jio has routing issues going on for several years now and they may not solve it anytime soon.

I am currently using JioFiber (optical fiber). But I plan to have an Airtel Xstream Fiber (optical fiber) connection alongside JioFiber once they make it available in my area because of Jio's bad routing issues.

For streaming and downloading, Jio internet works perfectly. I think it's made solely for entertainment purpose. For other work purpose, Airtel internet is more reliable.

Will Airtel expand OFC to other areas is the BIG Question.

Airtel OFC is available in my city but not everywhere. One has to request to the right escalation team I guess. Looks like they are focusing more on AirFiber

BTW there is no mention of AirFiber anywhere on their packaging or hardware or even on Airtel thanks app. It’s branded as. Xstream Fiber (Airtel WiFi).

Since the technician agreed that OFC is available in my city, I feel if they make it available in the future. I might upgrade my Air Fiber to OFC.

Also, I will enquire about extreme Fiber OFC if it’s available at my home

Does anyone know who i can contact in Airtel hight level team if i have to get Airtel to get its OFC to my area. any email ID/Phone number ?
For Goa ig there is no appellate or higher authority as far as their website goes.

Or you can try out this direct Airtel Broadband Number
