MUMBAI: Samsung has extended the Galaxy Family with the launch of Samsung Galaxy SII Model: GT-I9100. The handset is a thin (8.49mm) and lightweight (116g), dual-core smartphone with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
The handset incorporates advanced 4G (HSPA+ 21MBPs) connectivity and a 1.2GHz dual-core application processor which features web browsing, multi-tasking comparable to a PC-like environment, supreme graphics quality, and instantly responsive 3D user interface on the large screen. It also offers Kies Air application, HSPA+ connectivity, BlueTooth 3.0+HS, Wi fi direct, 8MP camera and camcorder with 1080p full HD recording and playback with Samsung’s allshare technology.
The Samsung Galaxy SII is equipped with Samsung’s new crystal-clear super amoled plus screen that introduces the best color gamut quality, contrast ratio and edge sharpness by using realstripe screen technology and an increased sub-pixel count without compromising battery performance.
Samsung Galaxy SII new enhanced voice technology will enable users with customized voice translation application. The app allows user to control the messaging, social media, calling and email, through Samsung voice solution which will recognizes users voice and convert it to text and vice versa. The handset is also incorporated with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.
Announcing the market introduction plans for the Galaxy SII, Ranjit Yadav said, “We are commencing the online pre-bookings for Galaxy SII, consumers can pre-book a Galaxy SII online for Rs 1000/- and avail of exclusive online offers with the Galaxy SII. We will be making Galaxy SII exclusively available across the Vodafone channel from June 3rd and across the Samsung Smartphone channel from 9th June on a pan India basis. All consumers buying a Galaxy SII will get 1GB of 3G data download free per month for a period of 6 months from Vodafone.”
Speaking on the launch, Vodafone Essar Ltd chief marketing officer Kumar Ramanathan said, “Vodafone is happy to associate with Samsung and bring Samsung Galaxy SII to its customers in India.The phone combines the best of innovation and design, something that Vodafone has pioneered in, time and again.”
The next generation Smartphone also includes Samsung’s three new content and entertainment Samsung Hubs integrated to provide instant access to games, e-reading and social networking services.
Social Hub Premium that gives user an access to all types of messages (push e-mail, text, VM and SNS) and respond directly without resorting.
