Apple is quite serious about its Rose Gold color variant, and after starting off with iPhones, it introduced the color on iPads and now the new MacBooks as well. Not to be left far behind, arch rival Samsung too has introduced a similar color for its flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones, only it likes to call the color — ‘Pink Gold’.
Samsung says that the Pink Gold color is inspired by skin tones, but if you ask us, a skin color like that would surely warrant a visit to the doctor. Explaining a bit more about the color, Samsung says that the Pink Gold color is quite natural and provides ‘a sense of comfort’. The color is also intended to ‘soothe and incorporate a touch of gentleness, radiance and sophistication to the smartphones’ design’.
These all seem like fancy words to explain a color that is clearly inspired by Apple’s Rose Gold. The color has been a hit since its launch along with the iPhone 6s, especially with the fairer s#x. It is little wonder that Apple has expanded the color scheme to the iPads and MacBooks as well.
Samsung says that the Pink Gold color is being introduced today in South Korea, followed by select markets soon. There is no word on an Indian launch date, and at the time of filing the story, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are only available in Black Onyx, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium color variants.
Samsung’s new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones are available online for Rs 48,900 and Rs 56,900 respectively.
