Samsung has quietly announced the Galaxy Tab A (2016) tablet with a price tag of around Rs 12,600.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab A back in June last year, and now the company has quietly taken the wraps off the 7-inch variant. The Galaxy Tab A (2016) has been listed on
Samsung‘s websites, and though a price is not mentioned, it is listed with some online retailers with a price tag of €169 (Rs 12,600 approximately).

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) is in line with most of the leaks we have come across so far . There’s not a lot of change in terms of the overall design, but Samsung has managed to keep the thickness down to only 8.7mm. The tablet also weighs just 283 grams. One thing to note is that while Samsung’s flagship smartphones have recently undergone a design overhaul, its tablets seem to be retaining last year’s design.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) specifications, features:

The tablet flaunts a 7-inch WXGA (1280×800 pixels) TFT display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with1.5GB of RAM. Also on offer is 8GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card.

The Galaxy Tab A (2016) also features 5-megapixel auto-focus primary camera, 2-megapixel selfie camera, and a 4,000mAh battery that the company claims is good enough for up to nine hours of video playback and up to 100 hours of music playback. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 4.0, and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Besides the smaller display size, there is not a lot of differentiating factors between the Galaxy Tab A (2016) and last year’s bigger sized Galaxy Tab A. Last year’s tablet features a 16GB internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE with voice calling support, and a bigger 4,200mAh battery.
