South Korean handset maker Samsung said its smartphone Galaxy S II has reached global channel sales of three million units.

Samsung has been bullish on the smartphones segment and many of its recent launches have been in the category.
In India, Samsung has said it expects smartphones to contribute 15 per cent to the sales volume by the end of 2011 from about 10 per cent currently.
Over 1,300 Galaxy S II handsets were booked online in the first 10 days of bookings opening on May 26.
