New Delhi: Samsung, in all likelihood,
is expected to launch the recently
unveiled Galaxy Note 4 smartphone
in India on October 14. The company
has already sent out invites for its
"Next Galaxy" event scheduled to
take place on October 14 in India.
Though the company does not state
the Note 4 launch in its invites, it
clearly hints at the arrival of the
next-gen Note to India.

Samsung is bringing the Note 4 to
India three days ahead of the iPhone
6 and iPhone 6 Plus India launch.
Apple is all set to introduce the
larger iPhones in India on October
17. Both the Note 4 and bigger
iPhones will be hitting the store
shelves before Diwali.

The Galaxy Note 4 features a 5.7-
inch Quad HD (2560x1440) Super
AMOLED display. The new Note has a
metal frame and soft-textured back
cover.

The Galaxy Note 4 has a 16
megapixel rear camera with optical
image stabilisation that counter-
balances camera shake and
automatically extends exposure time
in dark settings. Its 3.7 megapixel
front camera is claimed to capture 60
per cent more light. The front camera
offers a default 90-degree shooting
angle and up to 120 degree wide
angle to help users capture better
selfies.

Samsung says the muti window
feature in the Note 4 improves the
multitasking experience. Samsung, in
the Galaxy Note 4's S Pen, has
doubled the pressure sensitivity from
the Galaxy Note 3.

The S Pen in the Galaxy Note 4 can
also work as a mouse cursor. The
phone gets charged faster than its
predecessor, and has low power
consumption.

The Galaxy Note 4 will be available in
Charcoal Black, Frost White, Bronze
Gold, and Blossom Pink.

Phablets, a cross between a phone
and a tablet, have been on a roll
since late 2011 as tech-savvy
consumers, particularly in Asia,
devote more time browsing data-
heavy Web pages and downloading
media content.

I felt both note 3 and note 4 looks same.

NEW DELHI: Just a month after its
global unveiling, Samsung Galaxy
Note 4 has been launched in the
India at Rs 58,300. The phablet has
hit the market just ahead of Diwali
and will face fierce competition from
Apple's first-ever phablet, iPhone 6
Plus.

As part of its introductory offer,
Vodafone is offering up to 2GB of
data per month for subscribers who
are not active on data packs.
Subscribers with active data packs
will get up to 1GB per month for two
months.

Commenting at the launch, Asim
Warsi, VP, mobile and IT, Samsung
India, said, "The new device exhibits
people inspired innovation with its
unique combination of an enhanced S
Pen, large and vivid display and
superior productivity features to
provide the most refined Galaxy
experience to our customers."

Galaxy Note 4, which is now the top-
end phablet in Samsung's portfolio,
has a 5.7-inch display. Samsung has
upped the display resolution in
Galaxy Note series, from Full HD
(1080x1920p) in Note 3 to QHD
(1440x2560p) in Note 4.

Despite a higher-resolution display,
Samsung says that Galaxy Note 4 will
deliver 7.5% more battery life than
its predecessor due to an optimized
interface. The phablet has a
3,220mAh battery (just 20mAh more
than that of Galaxy Note 3), and
features fast-charging technology, so
the battery can go from 0% to 50% in
30 minutes.

Under the hood, the Indian version
of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has an
octa-core processor (1.9GHz quad-
core + 1.3GHz quad-core). The
phablet comes with 3GB RAM and
the only storage option now is 32GB,
with support for 64GB microSD cards
for more storage.

The rear camera has 16MP resolution
and comes with Optical Image
Stabilization, a feature that has
become common among
smartphones nowadays. Samsung has
become a part of the selfie brigade
with a 3.7MP front camera that
allows users to take wide-angle
selfies (120-degree).

Galaxy S5 features like fingerprint
sensor embedded in the Home key
and heart rate monitor on the back
also find a place in Galaxy Note 4.
Samsung has also included a
barometer and hall sensor in its new
phablet.

On the software side, Samsung has
used an interface that is largely the
same as that of Galaxy S5. The
Galaxy Note 4 phablet will come pre-
loaded with support for 14 regional
Indian languages, including Hindi,
Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Urdu,
Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada,
Marathi, Oriya and Assamese.

It also comes with additional
software optimized to make use of
the S Pen stylus. Compared to Note
3, users can multitask better in multi-
window mode of Galaxy Note 4,
which supports minimizing apps as
floating widgets. It also has better
text selection and crops selected
areas on the screen for later viewing.

The S Note app gets its own widget
on the Galaxy Note 4, so that users
can access the core functions of the
stylus as soon as they unlock it.

I had a hand on of Samsung Note 4 in gitex Dubai few weeks ago and trust me I had to say note 4 is the most good looking phone ever produced with metal chassis all round only with back cover plastic but still looks with premium and most beautiful part about this phone is the screen and the camera I would say the phone with the best screen and camera currently in the market is undoubtedly Samsung Note 4. :luv

No one posted snap of the device till now, so here is one.

Samsung on Tuesday launched the Galaxy
Note 4 in India at a price of Rs 58,300. The
phablet will be available in stores from October
17, which incidentally is the same day when
Apple's phablet -- the iPhne 6 Plus -- will go on
sale.
The Galaxy Note 4 uses Samsung's new design
language -- similar to the one in the Galaxy
Alpha -- and has a metal frame around its
body. The back cover of the device has the
faux-leather type finish.
Commenting at the launch, Mr. Asim Warsi,
VP, Mobile & IT, Samsung India said, "The
launch of Galaxy Note 4 highlights Samsung's
commitment to deliver iconic and
differentiated products. The new device
exhibits people inspired innovation with its
unique combination of an enhanced S Pen,
large and vivid display and superior
productivity features to provide the most
refined Galaxy experience to our customers."
The Indian version of the Galaxy Note 4 is
powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-
core processor running at 2.7GHz. The device
has 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage,
which can be further expanded with a microSD
card slot.
The Note 4 has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED
display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.
The screen has a 2.5D curved glass. This
means it has bigger and sharper, at least on
paper, display than the one in the Apple iPhone
6 Plus, which will be its chief competitor.
The Galaxy Note 4 has a fingerprint scanner in
its home-button as well as a heart rate
monitor placed near the rear camera.
The camera on the Note 4 sees a big upgrade
from the Note 3. Not only the resolution goes
up now to 16 megapixels, but it also features a
phase detect auto-focus system and optical
image stabilisation. The Galaxy S5 and the
latest iPhones also use phase detect auto-
focus system.
The front camera has a 3.7-megapixel
resolution. The Note 4 has a 3220mAh battery.
It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, topped with
TouchWiz users interface. In India, the phone
supports LTE networks in the country, so
Samsung has avoided the faux-pass it
committed with the launch of the Galaxy S5 as
the phone launched without LTE, though later
on the company launched a LTE variant of the
same.
