The 2017 iteration of Samsung’s Galaxy J5 has reportedly received Wi-Fi certification, suggesting that the smartphone could soon hit the market. The original Samsung Galaxy J5 was launched back in 2015 and over the years, Samsung has added more features to the affordable smartphone. The latest version of the Galaxy J5 has surfaced on the Wi-Fi Alliance certification website.
Based on the listing on Wi-Fi Alliance, the smartphone with model number SM-J530F, will have dual-band Wi-Fi support and will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There are no other details which could be gauged from the Wi-Fi certification listing, other than the Android iteration. At the upcoming event, Samsung is expected to take wraps off smartphones across price categories. Alongside the Galaxy J5 (2017), the company is also rumored to announce the Galaxy J7 (2017) . The Galaxy J7 (2017) has also been detailed in past leaks, hinting at a slight design change as compared to its predecessor. The smartphone is expected to feature a new metal strip at the rear. It is expected that it will feature a 5.5-inch full HD display and come powered with a Exynos chipset paired with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
In the photography department, it is expected that the Galaxy J7 (2017) will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. It is further speculated that the smartphone will come fuelled with a 3,000mAh battery.
Meanwhile, another Samsung Galaxy smartphone has been detailed in fresh leaks. Dubbed the Galaxy Xcover 4 , the smartphone is from the company’s rugged series of smartphones which come with IP 67 certification for water and dust resistance. The smartphone has been spotted on benchmarking website Geekbench, giving a sneak peek into some of its specs and features.
