Hi,
After using my local ISP's self-care portal, I suspect that several of my accounts were breached. Upon investigation, it appears the portal contains a malicious virus in its database. I decided not to take any further risks and opted to switch to another ISP for the time being.
I’ve had a Jio Fiber connection since 2020 but stopped using it in 2023. Given the situation, I decided to check if Jio Fiber is still reliable and tried recharging with the ₹199 plan.
However, I faced an issue: my Jio Fiber connection was deactivated. I contacted customer support twice — on the second attempt, a representative reactivated my connection within five minutes.
After reactivation, the speed has been quite stable — around 103 Mbps download and 113 Mbps upload, with noticeably better ping than before.

Pros:
- Browsing feels noticeably faster and smoother.
- DNS ping is excellent — much better than BSNL or local broadband providers (which usually hover around 38–45ms in Kolkata).
- The router still works flawlessly even after 5 years of use.
- No random routing issues — the network path remains stable.
Cons:
- Download speeds sometimes fluctuate, possibly due to the content server.
- The default Jio DNS (primary) is often unreachable, so I switched to Cloudflare’s zero-touch DNS — which works much better.
