So many questions raised now. I doubt whether even government can answer them!

It is not compulsory rather it is to make it easier for people who have aadhar as it will now be simpler and no extra documents need to be given. If one doesn't have aadhar they can give a declaration stating the same.

So in simple word, without aadhaar death certificate will remain on different officers tables month after month for money. If you hv aadhar then you will get it fast thus making it easier to claim insurance
