Reliance Digital has expanded its lineup of LYF-branded smartphones with the launch of the LYF Wind 7s. The smartphone is priced at Rs 5,699, and it comes with Reliance Jio’s Happy New Year offer that provides unlimited voice calls and data until March 31, 2017. Reliance Digital‘s LYF Wind 7s is essentially a better variant of the LYF Wind 7i, which was launched last month for Rs 4,999. The new smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow operating system, and is available in three color variants — black, white and blue.

The LYF Wind 7s features 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 64-bit quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, and Adreno 304 GPU. Additionally, the smartphone is equipped with 16GB inbuilt storage capacity, which can be further expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card.

On the camera front, the LYF Wind 7s comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone which is fuelled by a non-removable 2,250mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, WLAN, Bluetooth, and USB OTG.

In comparison, the LYF Wind 7i , launched last month, features a 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280×720 pixels) resolution and AGC glass on top to protect the screen. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with Adreno 304 GPU. It also comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. On the photography front, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and auto-focus, and 720p video recording capabilities. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel camera. The smartphone also comes with a 2,250mAh battery. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. On the connectivity front, the smartphone comes with 4G, VoLTE, dual SIM dual standby support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS support.

With a price tag of Rs 5,699, the LYF Wind 7s will face competition from the likes of Lava A72. Lava’s smartphone sports a 5-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. Also on offer is 8GB internal memory which can be further be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. The smartphone sports 5-megapixel rear and selfie cameras. Both the cameras have LED flash. The Lava A72 is powered by 2,500mAh battery. While in terms of RAM, processor, camera and internal memory, the Reliance Digital LYF Wind 7s does better, the Lava A72 wins in the battery department.
