Reliance Digital has added another budget 4G VoLTE smartphone to its line of LYF smartphones, called the LYF Flame 7S. The phone is priced at Rs 3,499. Like its other smartphones in the LYF portfolio, the Flame 7S also comes with 4G VoLTE support. The smartphone will be available at Reliance Digital stores across the country.

The LYF Flame 7S seems to be just another version of the Flame 7, which launched in August this year with a price tag of Rs 3,499. Interestingly, the Flame 7S is also priced at Rs 3,499. While the two smartphones have mostly similar set of specifications, there are some differences. While the LYF Flame 7S comes with slightly upgraded 1,800mAh battery, the Flame 7 has 1,750mAh battery. The Flame 7S has a VGA front camera whereas the Flame 7 has 2-megapixel front facing camera. The Flame 7S though comes with sensors like Ambient Light, Accelerometer and Proximity Sensor, which are missing on the Flame 7. Similar to other LYF models, the Flame 7S also comes with Reliance Jio’s introductory Welcome Offer, under which users get free and unlimited access to Jio’s suite of services, including voice, data and its bundled apps till December 31, 2016.

LYF Flame 7S Specifications

The LYF Flame 7S features a 4-inch WVGA display (480 X 800 pixels) with Asahi Glass protection. Under the hood runs a 1.5GHz quad-core Speadtrum processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The smartphone features 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.

In the photography department, the smartphone sports a 5 megapixel fixed focus rear camera with LED flash coupled with a 0.3 megapixel VGA fixed focus front camera. The camera unit on the Flame 7S is capable of video recording in HD @60fps. Both the front and rear cameras offer 4X digital zoom. Other features include HDR, Panorama, Face Detection, Smile Shutter, Burst Mode, Slow Motion Video, Metering, White Balance, Anti-Banding, and ISO.
The smartphone is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by an 1,800 mAh battery that is claimed to offer up to 6 hours of talktime on 4G and standby time of up to 400 hours. In terms of connectivity, the LYF Flame 7S offers dual-SIM support (4G+2G), 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, and micro USB 2.0.

In the sub-Rs 4K category, the Flame 7S competes with the the Micromax Canvas Spark 2 Plus , which is priced at Rs 3,999 and runs the newer Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. With a 5-inch FWVGA display, the Canvas Spark 2 offers a larger display experience along with a 2,000mAh battery power. The differentiating factor here is that the Flame 7S comes with 4G VoLTE support which is missing on the Canvas Spark 2. At this price point, the Flame 7S also faces competition from the Phicomm Clue 630, which also offers a larger 2,300mAh battery and sports a 5-inch FWVGA display. Though, it supports 4G connectivity, but misses out on VoLTE support.
