Mumbai gear up for historic 500th
Mumbai vs Baroda, Mumbai
Ranji records have come to being synonymous with Mumbai. They are all set to add another feather to an already overcrowded cap as they become the first team to play 500 Ranji matches when they take on Baroda. In a clash at the Wankhede Stadium, they would be bolstered by the return of Shreyas Iyer, who gets back into the Mumbai colours after national duty.
It also ends the inconsistency in their playing eleven with their players constantly being drafted in and out of the Indian and India 'A' squads. It also provides a 'rusty' Ajinkya Rahane, who scratched around in the last game against Odisha, an opportunity to find form ahead of the Test series against Sri Lanka. Their campaign thus far hasn't matched up to the lofty standards they've set for themselves, conceding the first innings lead to Tamil Nadu and being stretched in their win against Odisha. But history proves they've generally been slow starters.

Tamil Nadu's games moved out of Chennai
Tamil Nadu's last two games against Madhya Pradesh and Baroda have been moved out of Chennai following persistent rains over the last few weeks. ESPNcricinfo understands that Tamil Nadu will now take on Madhya Pradesh in Indore from November 17, before flying to Vadodara to face Baroda from November 25.
Tamil Nadu have already had one rain-affected game, against Tripura, and possibly didn't want to risk their prospects of qualifying for the knockouts. With three games left, Tamil Nadu are fourth on the Group C standings, behind Andhra, Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai, and are still in search of their first outright win. Tamil Nadu's immediate challenge will be their game against Odisha in Cuttack from November 9.
