This is typical of them. I mailed customer support for help a month ago. They responded to me the day after my subscription expired. They always do the same.

Why you've subscribed? Don't you have Airtel/Vodafone/Idea active plan on any of the family member phone?
 
Am afriad bro may be its not allowed here ,but i got all membership of hotstar , zee 5, Spotify ,amazon with one year validity

I was using my Vodafone's number to get complimentary subscription. Same thing happened to be last year when I paid for the service. Zee5's customer service is horrible.
