Smartphone screens over the last few years
have become quite strong. Using materials like
Corning Gorilla Glass and Asahi DragonTrail
glass manufacturers have been able to make
the screens scratch resistant to quite a
degree. The latest example is the new
Samsung Galaxy Note 4. In a YouTube video, a
user has demonstrated that it is possible to
play the game Fruit Ninja using a sharp
kitchen knife.
Quite amazing no? In fact, in the video, the
user is able to play the game quite easily and
the amazing bit is that the screen was not
damaged.
The Galaxy Note 4 has possibly the most
advanced screen found in a smartphone. It has
a 5.7-inch QuadHD Super AMOLED panel,
which is reinforced with Gorilla Glass 3. In
comparison, Apple's new iPhone 6 Plus uses
ion-reinforced glass, which perhaps is not as
strong.
On the Note 4, as seen in the video, one can
even use the capacitive buttons with the knife.
This shows that the phone is not only pretty
strong, but also has a very sensitive digitiser.
