New Delhi, Apr 20: The corruption allegation against Union Agriculture Minister, Sharad Pawar already harmed the image of the politician. Now, another scam accusation has been implicated against Sharad Pawar's nephew, Ajit Pawar, the deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

A report showed that, when Ajit Pawar was the irrigation minister of Maharashtra, a company - AG Mercantile, partly owned by Ajit Pawar, was allocated a dam repair project. But "instead of money for the repairs the company was given land."

According the IBN-Lokmat, AG Mercantile was given 93,646 sq ft of land, which is located at the old Mumbai-Pune highway. The company got an additional 97,000 sq ft of land for building a road and a bridge in 2008.

Though Ajit Pawar rejected his link with the company, the company affairs website claimed that Ajit Pawar has 8800 equity shares and the deputy CM of Maharashtra did not even mention the fact during his election declaration.

Extending the Pawars' jittery, the report also showed a clear link with Ajit Pawar and one of the main accused in the 2G scam - Vinod Goneka. Mr Goenka, according to the 'AG Mercantile website', is one of the directors of the company.

The new land scam may corner Sharad Pawar who earlier claimed that his family members had no links with Goenka and the 2G spectrum scam.
