Completely my personal openion,
These things were actually needed immediately after terrorist attack.
Put International pressure on Pakistan to take take action against Terrorists.
But Instead our govt. took the second option which gives gallery applause and whistles, the air strike.
Just like any country, pak have their Ego and self esteem, they have to answer their people also, obviously they will respond.
But If India choose the 1st option, even the BJP Govt. could have used it politically also where no opposition can deny its maturity.

Actually pakistani army were claiming they have arrested 2 pilots and they have shot down 2 jets but 1 jet was there own and other pilot was of f16. When our govt said only 1 pilot was MIA then pakistani army said we have only 1 pilot in custody.

Pak claimed that they captured 2 Indian pilots. One got injured & another is IAF Pilot Abhinandan. Looks like injured pilot was Pak pilot who got injured in F16.
