The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has delayed the departure of its cricket team to India for the ICC World Twenty20 citing security concerns in India, according to sources. The Pakistan team was supposed to leave for India from Lahore to New Delhi at 12 noon on Wednesday.
Sources told CNN-IBN that the final decision on the team's departure to India for the mega T20 event will be taken after a formal go-ahead by Pakistan's Interior Ministry. The PCB had earlier postponed the departure of it's women's team as well.
The sources further added: "Our [Pakistan] security team visited Dharamsala and we have concerns about the venue. There have been no promises by the Government of India about the security and [our] teams will not come to India on Wednesday.
"Even no meeting is scheduled to meet the Pakistan officials by the Indian security agencies."
Earlier in the day, Tournament Director MV Sridhar confirmed that the much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan will be held as scheduled in Dharamsala.
"The match is on. The state and central governments are on board and all security arrangements have been made," he said after a meeting with Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Home Ministry, MK Singla, besides others.

Pakistan are scheduled to play against India on March 19 in Dharamsala in the state of Himachal Pradesh. There has been some opposition in the state, including from ex-servicemen, on holding the match at the hill station. Families of India's war heroes, who laid their lives for the country, are against the visit of Pakistan team. As a result, the state's chief minister, Virbhadra Singh, had expressed difficulty in providing security.
India host the WT20 from March 8 to April 3 for both men and women, but Pakistan's participation is subject to the clearance from their government.
Pakistan are scheduled to play their first warm-up match in Kolkata on March 12 and the second one on March 14, followed by their tournament opener against one of the qualifiers on March 16.
