There’s been a lot of speculation about OnePlus’s upcoming mini smartphone. The smartphone was expected to debut at the company’s event on October 12, but they only announced their Make in India plans to manufacture smartphones in India with Foxconn. Now, OnePlus has officially posted a photo via its official Twitter handle, pointing to October 29.
While there is no clear mention about any product, the photo teases a big “X”, with a caption that reads ‘#PowerfullyBeautiful’. This does confirm the existence of the leakedOnePlus X smartphone. Another OnePlus smartphone, the alleged OnePlus mini was also accidently leaked on Amazon India. If true, OnePlus might announce, not one, but two mini smartphones going forward.
OnePlus X specifications and features:Based on leaks and reports that we’ve come across so far, the alleged OnePlus X which was recently spotted on FCC website, hints at a design change, compared to the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2. It could feature a 5-inch display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, a dual-camera setup at the back, and a fingerprint sensor as well.
OnePlus India’s General Manager, Vikas Agrawal had earlier mentioned “we will introduce a new smartphone by the end of this year. Diwali would be the ideal time, but next quarter for sure. It would be a global launch, but India will be the biggest focus.” The OnePlus X is expected to be aggressively priced around $249 (which is approximately Rs 16,320).
While we are excited to learn more about OnePlus’s upcoming mini smartphone, we will have to wait until October 29, when the company makes it official.
