OnePlus has announced two new devices this year, the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X. The former handset is the company’s newest flagship and a direct successor to the OnePlus One which has been announced last year. The OnePlus X, on the other hand, is the company’s mid-range offering. OnePlus has recently announced that invitations won’t be available for the purchase of the OnePlus 2, which surprised quite a few people, and in case you live in India and you’re interested in purchasing the more affordable OnePlus X smartphone, you can do that now as well, read on.
This China-based company will eventually ditch the invite system for the OnePlus X as well, but that’s not the case just yet. Despite that, OnePlus is allowing Indian users to purchase this smartphone without an invite today, so if you’re interested, this is the time to act. The OnePlus X can be purchased without and invite via Amazon India, the 16GB Onyx version. This smartphone will cost you Rs. 16,999 in case you’re interested. As a side note, OnePlus did announce that the OnePlus X Special Edition Ceramic version will be available within 24 hours as well, and we assume India will be one of the countries this phone will be available in considering that’s what OnePlus said during OnePlus X’s launch event.
The OnePlus X sports a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage (up to 128GB via a microSD card). This smartphone is fueled by the Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor along with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter (PDAF included) is available on the back of this device, and an 8-megapixel snapper can be found up front. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with OnePlus’ OxygenOS available on top of it. The OnePlus X ships with two SIM card slots (2 x Nano SIM), but keep in mind that you’ll be able to use only one of those if you intend on using the microSD card as well (hybrid dual-SIM).
