Indian OnePlus One users are expectant
to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop-base
CM12S update over-the-air (OTA), with
the rollout of the last Cyanogen OS
update (CM11S 05Q) also made
available in that manner in the country,
but no official word has been provided
thus far confirming this.
This changed earlier this week however,
when OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei
responded to a user query on Twitter to
confirm that OnePlus One (Review |

receive the much-awaited CM12S updat
over-the-air.
Beyond the Lollipop-based CM12S
update however, things still remain dicey
for Indian users of the OnePlus One
smartphone, with the availability of
Cyanogen OS updates in India the
biggest bone of contention between
Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures an
OnePlus. Micromax's Yu brand has in th
past claimed "exclusive OTA firmware
updates and support in India" - but is
yet to make good on it, much to the
delight of OnePlus One users in India.
OnePlus earlier this month provided
deadlines for the rollout of the promised
Lollipop updates for its One smartphone,
promising the CM12S-based build along
with the first stable build of the firm's
own OxygenOS before the end of the
month.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer
says the Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS
build will be released on or before March
30 as an OTA update, while the
OxygenOS build will be released on or
before March 27 as a ROM download.
OnePlus says to prove its commitment, it
will give away five 64GB OnePlus One
smartphones if it misses either one of th
deadlines - users have to reply to the
announcement on the announcement
post to be eligible to receive a handset
