OnePlus has announced that its '2014
Flagship Killer' smartphone, the One, will
not get a price hike in India.
The speculations around price hike of th
OnePlus One for the Indian market
started last month when the company
raised prices of the handset for Europe
(specifically the countries part of the
European Union) citing the decline in
value of the Euro. The company had eve
hinted that it might revise the price of th
OnePlus One smartphone in India.
The Chinese company however, stressin
on the fact that the One smartphone
should be available at an attractive price
point in the country, has decided not to
raise price as of now.
To recall, the 16GB Silk White OnePlus
One is currently retailing in India at Rs.
18,999 while the 64GB Sandstone Black
variant is priced at Rs. 21,999 in India.
Commenting on this development, Vikas
Agarwal, General Manager - India,
OnePlus, said: "In line with our
NeverSettle philosophy and long term
commitment to the Indian market, we
assure our users that we are constantly
evaluating what works best for them; pa
of that is to continue to make the One
available at an attractive price point. It i
an ambitious step for a young startup,
but for us it's about returning maximum
value to our users by offering them great
products and unique experiences."
OnePlus over the weekend, after missing
its deadlines at the end of March, starte
the rollout of the OxygenOS custom ROM
based on Android 5.0 Lollipop for the
OnePlus One smartphone. The ROM was
made available to download and flash.
The company recently even claimed that
its customer support has improved,
addressing concerns of many users who
felt the company was lacking in this
regard.
