WWE NXT results: Feb. 3, 2016 - Apollo Crews tries to prove himself against Finn Bálor, Regal rules on controversial match
ORLANDO, Fla.

* After the controversial ending to last week’s NXT Championship No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match, NXT General Manager William Regal made a ruling that sent shockwaves through NXT. Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe will square off, with a future championship showdown with Finn Bálor hanging in the balance, a decision that left Baron Corbin furious. Meanwhile, the NXT Champion found himself facing another tough test in non-title action against Apollo Crews, who was looking to prove himself as worthy of hanging with NXT's top Superstars.

* The Vaudevillains def. The Hype Bros
Aiden English & Simon Gotch have been warning the NXT Universe that they’re turning over a new leaf, through a series of silent films. The Vaudevillains finally got a chance to show off their more aggressive side when they took on The Hype Bros. Zack Ryder & Mojo Rawley used their size and strength advantage to take control, but English & Gotch were not afraid to resort to dirty tactics to gain the upper hand.
The Vaudevillains focused on Ryder, wearing Long Island Iced-Z down in their half of the ring. Ryder slipped out of their clutches and tagged in Mojo. Despite a brief burst of offense from Rawley, The Vaudevillains took advantage of a missed Broski Boot and clobbered Ryder with the Whirling Dervish to earn the victory. Now that they’ve shown how fierce they can be, will The Vaudevillains be able to channel that and reclaim the NXT Tag Team Championship?

* Carmella def. Emma
After last week’s tag team battle, Emma was out to prove that she is still the Diva to beat, despite Carmella’s status as No. 1 contender to the NXT Women’s Title. Throughout the bout, Emma and Dana Brooke did not appear to be taking The Princess of Staten Island seriously, mocking Carmella on several occasions.
Carmella’s resilience led to Emma’s mean streak coming out, stepping on her rival’s hair and locking on several torturous submissions. However, the No. 1 contender refused to give in. In the midst of Emma’s vicious offense, The Princess of Staten Island slipped out of her opponent’s grasp and pinned Emma with a backslide to win the battle!

* Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady def. local competitors
Though they were voted Tag Team of the Year in 2015 by the NXT Universe, Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady are not going to rest on their laurels. The Realest Guys in the Room made it clear that in 2016, they won’t stop until they become the NXT Tag Team Champions. They backed up their all-business attitude with a dominant victory on WWE Network. After Big Cass hurled one half of their opposition over the ropes to the arena floor, he tossed Enzo onto the other half for the three-count.

* Asuka def. Santana Garrett
Independent scene standout Santana Garrett showed no fear in the face of Asuka, walking right up to The Empress of Tomorrow and striking her repeatedly. However, her flurry had no effect on Asuka, who retaliated with a devastating hip attack. Santana impressed by hanging hold-for-hold with Asuka, until The Empress of Tomorrow emerged from a tussle on the canvas in the perfect position to cinch in the Asuka Lock and force Santana to submit. Asuka is looking more dangerous than ever. Will anyone be able to stop her?

* NXT Champion Finn Bálor def. Apollo Crews (Non-Title Match)
Apollo Crews asked for this match with Finn Bálor, seeking to prove to himself that he could hang with NXT’s best after his last battle with the NXT Champion ended due to outside interference. The two Superstars seemed to be evenly matched at the outset of their battle, neither man able to gain the upper hand.
Bálor soon grabbed hold of a headlock and slowed the bout down to a methodical pace, working over his opponent. Crews finally slipped out and sent the NXT Champion reeling with a dropkick before taking control with a headlock of his own. Bálor bounced back and started to unleash on Crews with a hard kick and a series of chops. Still, Crews could not be deterred, as he fought back and used his power to stagger the NXT Champion.
However, a flashy moonsault to the outside of the ring may have been his undoing, as it gave Bálor time to recover and slide back in the ring to dive back out onto Crews. Realizing that it would take more than usual to put away his resilient opponent, the NXT Champion crushed Crews with the Coup de Grace, then followed up with a devastating high-angle DDT to win the battle. Though Crews may not have won the battle, he earned Bálor’s respect and the right to count himself among NXT’s elite.

NXT Lakeland, FL, live results: Hype Bros vs. Vaudevillains, Tough Enough Patrick debuts.

- They're expecting about 250 for this event.

- Hugo Knox beat Tucker Knightwith the split leg moonsault after an evenly fought match. Early on, they allowed the fans to decide who the favorite would be, and tonight, it was Hugo. Tucker wore Hugo down before a hot comeback and the flashy moonsault for the win.

- Adrian Reese and Mandy beat Aliyah and Daria. Reese controlled most of the match, and picked up the win in a pretty quick match.

- Riddick Moss beat Patrick from Tough Enough, making his NXT debut. Quick match. The crowd was behind Patrick for his comeback before Moss put him away.

- Elias Samson beat Chris Girard.Intense action by the former Biff Busick, grunting and laying in his holds. Elias took control and heckled the crowd. Samson picks up the win with his neckbreaker. Before the matc, Tom Phillips interviewed Samson who sings a song about how awful Lakeland is.

- Apollo Crews beat Tino Sabbateliwith the standing moonsault. This is the match of the night thus far. Tino was impressive and was able to keep up with Apollo's athletic ability. They traded reversals early on with Tino following up by taunting the crowd. By far, this is Tino's best match which says a lot about Crews.

- Manny Andrade beat Steve Cutlerwith the running knees. Manny is winning over the locals with great moves and action.

- Tom Phillips interviewed Dallas Harper, the 6'9" signee who was brought in last October. He was wearing classy attire with suspenders and a bowtie. He put down the fans and the town, saying he would not be shucking and jiving.

- Peyton Royce beat Liv Morgan.Royce took most of this match other than a few Morgan hope spots. These two worked well together.

- The Hype Bros beat The Vaudevillainsin our main event with the Hype Ryder. This featured a lot of Mojo comedy including kicking a field goal out of Aiden English. Vaudevillains broke up one Hype Ryder attempt and almost stole the victory before the Hype Bros hit it and scored the win.

NXT OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, LIVE RESULTS: FINN BALOR & NAKAMURA VS. TYE DILLINGER & SAMOA JOE

The crowd was pretty into everything, and the whole tone of the show was about fun, so a lot of comedy and not a lot of super intense action. All the performers seemed to be having a blast in the ring. Bayley and Nakamura seemed to be the most popular merch, even ahead of Balor (though there were a lot of Bullet Club shirts).
- Bayley def. Alexa Bliss
Bayley won with a Bayley to Belly. Everyone loved Bayley, of course; she got one of the best reactions of the night.
- Manny Andrade def. Chris Girard
Crowd had no idea who either were and chanted "Let's go rookies" at the start of the match. A few people were giving Girard grief for resembling Cesaro physically. Crowd was into Manny by the end. He teased a few dives but never pulled the trigger, and won with the double knees to the corner.
- Austin Aries def. Murphy
Austin worked an extended headlock sequence that got a "Headlock city" chant. He won with a running dropkick to the corner followed by Last Chance-arie for the submission.
- NXT Tag Champions American Alpha def. Sawyer Fulton and Alexander Wolfe
Alpha was over huge and people were buzzing for Jordan's hot tag. Fulton and Wolfe's Mad Max outfits got a brief "You look stupid" chant. The did a lot of contrived double team moves on Gable that kind of dragged the match, but the people went crazy for the ending. Alpha won with Grand Amplitude.
Intermission
- Tyler Breeze def. No Way Jose
Breeze got one of the biggest pops of the night for his surprise entrance. Crowd was super into Jose's entrance music, and chanted his name to the Ole Ole cadence. Tyler made a brief promo on being one of the people who put NXT on the map, and the people chanted "Thank you Tyler." This was probably the most fun match of the night.
Crowd treated both like babyfaces, and they did some really clever comedy spots. Biggest pop of the whole night might have been when Tyler did Scotty 2 Hotty's worm, and Jose was booed when he tried doing the people's elbow. Finish came when Tyler brought a chair in and tired to get the Eddie Guerrero DQ, then hit Jose with the supermodel kick over the bent-over referee's back for the pin. Super fun match.
- NXT Women's Champion Asuka def. Eva Marie
Eva was fine, and did a decent job of playing heel. Asuka won with the choke, which was kind of a flat ending. The event was in a convention center hall with no elevated seating, so for anyone past the first five rows, it was sometimes difficult to see mat level. I think many people couldn't even see what was going on when they went to the finish.
- Finn Balor & Shinsuke Nakamura def. Tye Dillinger & NXT Champion Samoa Joe
Dillinger came out first and cut a promo on the Thunder, who were losing an NBA playoff game to the Spurs in the arena across the street. Nakamura got a great reception. People definitely see him as top-tier. Balor got a main event pop, and I was completely unprepared for the effect he had on the women in the audience. There were women around me who were nearly breathless seeing Finn in person. Joe came out last. Match was really entertaining but not super exciting, if that makes sense. Mainly, it centered around Tye working most of the match with Finn trying to get at Joe and Joe wanting nothing to do with either of his opponents.
When Joe and Nak entered the ring to square off, the atmosphere was electric. Of course, Joe immediately tagged out for great heat. Nakamura worked Tye's fingers of all things, doing a fun snapping move that made it sound like he was breaking Tye's finger. Each time he'd do it, the crowd would subtract from ten and chant "nine, eight," and so on. Good action once Joe really got in there. Good guys won when Balor hit Tye with the Bloody Sunday after Nakamura knocked Joe out with the Kinshasa.

Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss
In-ring action kicks off with Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss in a Women's Division match.
Bayley comes out to the usual warm reception while Bliss enters with her newfound attitude. They lock up as Bayley takes early control. Bliss turns the tables with a stiff kick and using the ropes to her advantage with a slingshot. Bliss maintains control with a headlock. Bliss continues with a variety of submissions and early pin attempts. Bayley catches a Bliss kick and turns it into a buckle bomb. Bayley gains momentum with a series of splashes, back elbows, and high knee strikes. Bayley covers Bliss for a two count! Huge right hand from Bliss to Bayley after the pin attempt and Bayley is down as we go to commercial.
We return from break with Bliss still in firm control. Bayley counters a second slingshot into a cutter between the ropes. Cover for a two count. Bliss grabs Bayley into a choke hold and floors her, leading her into her knee strikes she calls "insult to injury." Bliss goes to the top ropes and Bayley joins her. Sunset flip from Bliss for a two count. After Bliss goes to complain to the official, there is a series of bridges, roll-ups, and backslides for covers from both ladies. Bayley hits a belly-to-back suplex for a two count. Bayley goes to the second rope as Bliss sweeps the legs out from under her. Bliss misses with a splash as Bayley gets her knees up. Bayley then grabs Bliss for the "Bayley-To-Belly" suplex for the win.
Winner Via Pinfall: Bayley
After the match, Bayley grabs the microphone and talks about her road back from injury and losing the title, attributing it to Nia Jax. Jax comes to the ring in street clothes to confront Bayley. The two exchange words and seem to agree on a match as the segment ends.
We get a vignette for the newly signed tag team, TM-61.
We go backstage for an interview with The Revival. They claim they will retain their championships with their "4 fists and good sets of feet."
Blake & Murphy Vs. The Hype Bros.
We head back to the ring for tag team action pitting the Hype Bros. vs. Blake and Murphy. Blake and Mojo Rawley start us off Murphy quickly tags himself in. As Blake and Murphy sort out their differences, Rhyno returns! Rhyno gores Rawley, Blake, and Ryder to a huge reaction. We shall see what implications his return has in the future.
No Contest--Interference
We get a look at Finn Balor vs. Shinsuke Nakamura with comments from Triple H, NXT Superstars, and more. Great video package that includes a great deal of their history in Japan.
Returning backstage, American Alpha talks about the main event as they seek to recapture the Tag Team Championships. They say they are more "ready, willing, and Gable" than ever.
Samoa Joe returns to Full Sail and NXT next week!
An interview tries to get a word with Rhyno as he leaves the arena and asks why he is back in NXT. Unfortunately for the interviewer and the viewing audience, we don't get an answer as Rhyno silently walks away.
American Alpha Vs. The Revival: 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match For NXT Tag Team Championship
Gable and Dash Wilder start and match and lock up. Lots of fast-paced chain wrestling ends with Gable applying an Ankle Lock. Dash gets to the ropes and Dawson is tagged in. Jason Jordan enters the match as we get some more clinical mat based wrestling to a standoff. Dawson goes for Gable outside the ring as Gable attacks Jordan from behind. Jordan quickly rebounds and we see American Alpha go for moves in tandem ending with dropkicks in stereo. We head to break.
Out of the break, Dawson is in control of Jordan. Dash gets the blind tag and maintains control. The Revival cut off the ring with quick tags and work the left knee of Jordan. Several shots are delivered to Jordan's left knee, including to the steel ring post. Big dropkick from Dawson to Jordan as Dash tags in and continues to work over the knee. Gable is able to make the tag and cleans house with a series of punches and dropkicks. Gable suplexes Dawson for a two count. A bit of confusion on who was legal for American Alpha and Dash lowers the ropes for Gable to take a spill to the outside. We head to commercial.
Returning to the ring, Dawson is in control of Gable. Back to the quick tags and crisp teamwork from The Revival. Gable slips out of the way but fails to make the tag as Dawson gets to him just before the tag. Huge spine buster from Dawson to Gable for a two count as the crowd gets behind American Alpha. Assisted leg drop from Dawson to Gable for a two count. Jordan gets the hot tag and clears the ring. Jordan spears Dash for a two count! Jordan counters a move into the Ankle Lock on Dash for the tap out and first fall.
Fall #1: American Alpha
Quickly into the second fall, we get a series of pin attempts from Jason Jordan for two counts. Dawson applies an Inverted Figure Four on Jason Jordan for the tap and second fall. We are tied up at one fall each!
Fall #2: The Revival
The action remains fast and furious with a series of pin attempts to no avail for either team. The Revival misses Shatter Machine as Jordan applies the Ankle Lock, but Dawson counters. Dawson applies the Inverted Figure Four once again, but Gable makes the save with a desperation splash. Gable now the legal man as he and Dawson battle on the ring apron. Shatter Machine from the apron to Gable. Dawson returns to the ring for the pin and three count! The Revival are still your NXT Tag Team Champions.

The show closes as the Revival celebrates in the ring and American Alpha recovers outside the ring.
