Shimoga, Karnataka, May 12: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today categorically said there was no provision to issue 'Hakku Patra' (ownership right) for those cultivating under "Bagair Hukum" in the forest land.

Speaking to the agitators at his home town Shikaripur where "Bagair Hukum" cultivators were staging dharna under banner of Karnataka Bhu Hakkudarara Vedike demanding issuing "Hakku Patra" immediately, the Chief Minister said somebody was misleading the agitators for political motive.

He said State Government had taken all the steps to issue the "Hakku Patra" to the beneficiaries.

He alleged due to the hurdles posed by the Union Government in the matter, "Bagair Hukum" cultivators were facing problems.

He said according to Form No 50, government received 1,10,745 applications in Shimoga District.

The government has issued "Hakku Patra" to 20,886 "Bagair Hukum" cultivators as per norms.

About 45 cultivators have not yet got the letter due to some technical reasons.

He assured the agitators that his government was ready to redress the problems of "Bagair Hukum" cultivators in the State.

With this assurance, agitators called off their agitation.
