Nikon India has announced the launch of its KeyMission action and wearable cameras in India. The new KeyMission cameras are company’s foray into growing action camera market, which is dominated by GoPro.

Earlier this year, Nikon had introduced the KeyMission 360 for recording 360 degree videos in 4K UHD resolution. Today, Nikon is adding the KeyMission 170 and KeyMission 80 to its action camera series. The newly introduced action cameras will continue being available alongside KeyMission 360 action camera.

The new KeyMission 170 captures 170 degree wide-angle videos in 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The action camera is shockproof and waterproof and supports VR function. The camera is also compatible with Nikon’s SnapBridge 360/170 app for smartphones and tablets and KeyMission 360/170 Utility for computers.

Apart from being dustproof, Nikon KeyMission 170 is coldproof up to -10 degree celsius. With WP-AA1 case, the action camera becomes waterproof to depths of 40 meters. With Nikon KeyMission 170, users can shoot slow motion videos, superlapse and timelapse movies.

Nikon KeyMission 80 offers a candybar shaped form factor for one-handed recording with the press of a button. The action camera is a wearable camera designed for shooting quick stills and movies. It features a small NIKKOR lens for capturing high quality images. There is a second camera with 4.9 million effective pixels and a LCD monitor for capturing selfies on the go.

The KeyMission 80 action camera is waterproof up to 1 meter and shockproof up to 1.5 meter. The camera is coldproof up to -10 degree celsius like its larger cousin. The action camera is ideal for use in outdoor activities like mountain climbing and trekking, fishing and camping.

The KeyMission 360, KeyMission 170 and KeyMission 80 will be available in India by November 2016.
