India v New Zealand, 4th ODI: Factfile - JSCA Stadium, Ranchi
India's seven-wicket win over New Zealand in Mohali on Sunday has given them the upper hand in the five-ODI series. The series is up for grabs on Wednesday in MS Dhoni 's home town of Ranchi, where the fourth ODI will be played at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) Stadium Complex.
Will it be a fitting result for Dhoni's India in the city where he is loved more than anywhere?
Lets take a brief look at the JSCA Stadium 's history.
The venue, which was approved by the ICC in October 2012, has hosted three ODIs and one T20I - all featuring India. The first international played here was in January 2013 when Dhoni's team beat England by seven wickets. Chasing 156, India won with Virat Kohli finishing the job with 77 not out.
The second ODI here was a no-result later in October 2013, with rain ending the match with India 27/0 in 4.1 overs in pursuit of 296 against Australia. In November 2014, India - this time led by Kohli, who made an unbeaten 139 - chased 288 with three wickets remaining to beat Sri Lanka 5-0.
On February 12, 2016 India met Sri Lanka at the JSCA Stadium in a T20I and beat them by 69 runs. India made 196/6 and kept Sri Lanka to 127/9 with R Ashwin 's 3/14 the stand-out bowling performance.
The JSCA Stadium, with a capacity of 40,000, is slated to host its first Test match in March 2017, when India play Australia in the third of four matches.
Apart from these aforementioned international fixtures, the venue has hosted seven IPL matches, five Champions League T20 matches and several domestic games.
