Runs on board matter a lot in test cricket . The wicket had a little grass bit still it was good for batting . Idk why they chose to bowl .

As I said, Root will score like freak now after letting go of captaincy burden. Expect 5000+ runs atleast from him. Kohli is nowhere near to 10K and Root will be the only player to reach 15K test runs from Fab Four. It's time for us to search new Fab Four if there are any.
