The 216-feet tall Statue is made of ‘panchaloha’, a combination of five metals gold, silver, copper, brass, and zinc. The inauguration is part of the 12-day celebration of Sri Ramanujacharya's 1,000th birth anniversary. It is located on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The foundation stone was laid in 2014 and the 1,000-crores project was funded entirely by donations. It is the second largest statue in the world in sitting position.
It is mounted on a 54-ft high base building, named ‘Bhadra Vedi’, has floors devoted for a Vedic digital library and research centre, ancient Indian texts, a theatre, an educational gallery detailing many works of Sri Ramanujacharya.
It is surrounded by the replicas of 108 holy shrines from many parts of the country including Tirumala, Ayodhya, Badrinath.
