Laser jet printers are good, if you use maximum. The cartridge (toners) rates are very high. Inkjet printers are perfect for personal use. But again the cost of cartridge is a problem. Refilling is possible, but the print quality will be poor. I have two inkjet printers with scan, copy + print options.

Print quality depends on cartridge used in the printer. To get the best print quality always change your empty cartridge with new hp cartridge only. If you refill your cartridge print quality will detoriate a bit.
