You can use FileZilla FTP for file transfer between PC to server which is also available on Mac and browsing is quite good with Safari, incase you are not satisfied or comfortable like me then Chrome and Firefox always there with every OS.

You have a terminal app for server related command line works on Mac.

Yes bro, they are different. iOS apps work on iPad, iPhone and iPod. MacOS apps works on iMac (desktop) and MacBook, Pro, Air.
