It seems like the only way rivals are adopting to reach the sales numbers of Apple's flagship tablet- iPad, is by resorting to a price cut. The sales of RIM's Playbook have increased drastically after the company reduced the price by almost 50 percent. Close on the heels of RIM, Motorola has also reduced the price of the Xoom tablet.
The Xoom had a retail price of Rs. 32,000 when it entered the Indian market and now online retailers are selling it for much less. Koovs is selling the 32GB Wi-Fi version for Rs. 21,000 while Flipkart has priced it at Rs. 26,850.
This deduction in prices may also be a result of the fact that the Xoom 2 is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2012.
