MIUI is a UI for Xiaomi phones and Tablets whose firmware is based on either android 4.4.4 or Android 5.1.1, just like Samsung phones has TouchWiz UI but that too based on android

No bro,MIUI is Xiaomi's android interface just like there is ZEN UI for Asus,Sense UI for HTC, TouchWiz for Samsung,Stock Android for Moto/Nexus etc,SO MIUI is not OS,this is just the interface what the users sees and feels in his/her phone :k

yes Vivek bro. it is a special OS of Xiaomi based on android OS.May be it upon Kitkat or Lollipop android Os. but not equal to android L.
